Catalyst development and catalyst characterization

Catalyst preparation

We have comprehensive catalyst preparation methods (precipitation, adsorption, impregnation, coprecipitation, sponge metal) and special supporting equipment, suitable for the preparation of catalyst from gram to kilo and kilo to ton quantities.

We use a wide range of state-of-the-art development equipment in key catalyst forming areas such as pelleting, extrusion, granulating, spray drying and encapsulation.

After the catalyst is prepared, we have a comprehensive range of drying, calcination, reduction, and passivation equipment (static, rotating, moving, fluidized bed) operated under a broad spectrum of conditions.

Catalyst characterization

Our material characterization capabilities include:

  • N2 adsorption method providing pore volume, pore size distribution, average pore diameter, BET surface area
  • Full range of chemisorption techniques for measuring active metal surface areas (e.g. Ni, Co, Cu, Pd, Pt, Ru)
  • Professional chemical adsorption instrument to measure the catalyst chemisorption capacity and catalyst REDOX properties at different temperatures
  • TPR analysis following thermally induced changes of a catalyst or its components
  • Full range of equipment for measuring the particle size, strength and attrition of formed catalysts and powders
  • Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES) for rapid determination of multiple elements
  • UV Spectrophotometer for analysis and determination of sulfur and other elements
